.funda. FundaCAD's own readable document, which keeps your steps and history.

.fundab. The same document as a smaller binary file that can repair itself.

3MF. A mesh format that slicers open.

Branch. A separate line of versions inside one document.

GLB. A binary 3D file for viewers and web pages.

Linked document. A document inserted in link mode, so you can update it when the original changes.

Mesh. A surface made of many small triangles, as in STL, 3MF and GLB files.

STEP. A file format that stores the exact solid, for handing parts to other CAD programs.

STL. The triangle mesh format almost every slicer reads.

Version. A saved snapshot of the document that you can return to.

Modelling

Body. One solid shape in your model.

Boolean. Combining bodies with Union, Subtract or Intersect.

Configuration. A named set of parameter values, such as a small and a large version.

Cut. A step that removes material from a body.

Join. A step that adds material to a body.

Parameter. A named number that steps can use.

Suppress. Switching a step off without deleting it.

Target. The body a join, cut or intersect acts on.

Sketching

Constraint. A rule a sketch keeps true, such as two lines being parallel.

Datum. A reference plane, axis or point you add yourself.

Dimension. A constraint with a number, such as a length.

Profile. A closed outline in a sketch that a solid can be made from.

Sketch. A flat drawing on a plane or a face.

Shapes

Chamfer. A flat bevel cut along an edge.

Draft. A small tilt added to a face.

Edge. The line where two faces meet.

Extrude. Pushing a profile out into a solid.

Face. One surface of a body.

Fillet. A rounded edge.

Loft. A shape that blends from one profile to another.

Mirror. A copy of a body reflected across a plane.

Pattern. Repeated copies in a line or around an axis.

Press/Pull. Moving a face in or out.

Revolve. Spinning a profile around an axis.

Shell. Hollowing a body to a given wall thickness.

Sweep. Pulling a profile along a path.

Thicken. Giving a face a wall of its own.

Assemblies and inspecting

Interference. Where two bodies overlap.

Joint. A rule that places one body against another.

Mechanism. A set of joints with one body held fixed.

Overhang. A face that leans too far to print without support.

Section. A view that cuts the model open with a plane.

Stress. An analysis of how one body bends and where it is strained.

Render and plugins

Bloom. A soft halo around bright areas that does not light other objects.

Glow. A material setting that makes a body give off light.

Material. The finish of a body in the Render workspace.

Node editor. The graph where you build a surface finish from connected patterns.

Workspace. One of the two window modes, Model and Render.

MCP. The connection that lets an AI assistant build and check parts.

Plugin. An optional add-on that brings extra tools.

Viewport

Command palette. A search box for every command, opened with Ctrl+K.

Gizmo. The handles shown while you move or turn something.

Wireframe. Showing only the edges of the model.

X-ray. Seeing through the model to select what is behind.
